RezQ ("RezQ", "we", "us") is a resume and cover letter builder for iOS, Android, and macOS. This Privacy Policy explains what data RezQ collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the rights you have over it.

We have written this policy in plain language. If anything here is unclear, email starrycodes@gmail.com and we will explain.

## 1. Data we collect

### 1.1 Information you provide

When you build your master profile and create roles, you may enter:

* Personal information: full name, professional title, phone number, email address, location, profile photo.

* Career content: work experience, education, skills, projects, hobbies, summary, social links.

* Role profiles: target job title, selected sections, chosen template, and theme.

You decide what to enter. RezQ does not require any specific field. If you do not enter a piece of information, we do not have it.

### 1.2 Information collected automatically

* Device and app diagnostics through Firebase (app version, device model, operating system version, locale, anonymous install ID, crash traces, basic usage events such as screen views and feature taps).

* In-app purchase and subscription state through RevenueCat (anonymous user ID, product identifiers, purchase status, platform receipts).

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos (beyond images you explicitly attach), call logs, SMS, browsing history outside the app, or biometric identifiers.

### 1.3 Information you send to AI features

When you use AI-assisted features (for example, generating or rewriting resume or cover letter content), the relevant text you submit is sent to a third-party AI provider so it can produce a response. See section 4.3.

## 2. How your data is stored

RezQ uses a hybrid storage model:

* **On your device.** Your master profile, roles, and generated artifacts are stored locally using Hive. This data lives on your device and is included in your normal device backups (iCloud, Google) according to your OS settings.

* **In the cloud (sync).** When cloud sync is enabled, your profile and roles are synchronised to our backend so the same content is available across your devices. Synchronised data is associated with your account identifier and is transmitted over TLS.

You can use RezQ without enabling cloud sync. When sync is off, your data does not leave your device except for the specific operations described in section 4 (analytics, purchases, AI generation).

## 3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

1. Provide core functionality: storing your profile, generating PDFs, rendering previews, and managing your roles.

2. Sync your content across your devices when sync is enabled.

3. Process subscriptions and unlock Pro features.

4. Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and understand which features are used so we can improve the app.

5. Respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your resume content to train AI models. We do not show third-party advertising inside RezQ.

## 4. Third-party services

RezQ relies on a small number of trusted processors. Each one only receives the data it needs.

### 4.1 RevenueCat (subscriptions)

* **Purpose:** Process and validate in-app purchases, manage Pro entitlement, restore purchases across devices.

* **Data shared:** Anonymous RevenueCat user ID, platform receipt, product identifier, country, app version.

* **Policy:** https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

### 4.2 Firebase (Google LLC)

* **Purpose:** Crash reporting, analytics, and (if enabled) authentication.

* **Data shared:** Device and app diagnostics, anonymous install ID, crash logs, basic event data, and where applicable your auth provider email.

* **Policy:** https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

### 4.3 AI provider

When you use AI-assisted generation, the prompt text (which may include the resume content you choose to include in the request) is sent to a large language model provider for processing. Responses are returned to your device and saved into your profile only when you accept them. The AI provider acts as a processor on our behalf and is contractually prohibited from using your content to train its models.

### 4.4 Apple App Store and Google Play

In-app purchases are processed by Apple and Google according to their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive your full payment card details.

## 5. Data sharing

We do not share your personal information with anyone other than the processors listed in section 4. We may disclose information if we are legally required to (for example, a valid court order) or to protect the rights, safety, or property of RezQ or its users.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

## 6. Data retention

* **Local data:** Stays on your device until you delete it from within the app or uninstall RezQ.

* **Synced data:** Retained on our backend for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, synced profile and role data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

* **Diagnostics:** Aggregated and de-identified analytics may be retained beyond account deletion for product improvement.

* **Purchase records:** RevenueCat may retain purchase metadata for as long as required by tax and consumer protection law.

## 7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA, UK, California, and Kenya), you may have the right to:

* Access the personal information we hold about you.

* Correct inaccurate information.

* Delete your personal information.

* Export your data in a portable format.

* Object to or restrict certain processing.

* Withdraw consent for optional processing such as analytics or AI features.

You can exercise most of these rights directly inside RezQ:

* Edit or delete any profile section from the Workshop tab.

* Disable cloud sync, analytics, or AI features from Settings.

* Delete your account from Settings, which permanently removes synced data.

For anything you cannot do in the app, email starrycodes@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

## 8. Children

RezQ is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to RezQ, contact starrycodes@gmail.com and we will delete it.

## 9. Security

We protect your data using:

* TLS for all network traffic between the app and our backend or third-party processors.

* Encryption at rest on the backend.

* Standard platform sandboxing for local data on iOS, Android, and macOS.

No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to apply industry-standard safeguards.

## 10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States and the European Union, depending on where our processors operate. When data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

## 11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as RezQ evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top, and where appropriate notify you inside the app. Continued use of RezQ after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
